The classical music of India has prospered based on what has been orally transmitted from the gurus to the shishyas. Thus, while one generation of musicians move towards their prime and pass it, another generation of musicians learns the art from their gurus in an attempt to carry the tradition forward. It is this new generation of musicians we represent and seek support to bring together capable disciples of noteworthy musicians across the country in an attempt to forge ties and create better understanding and appreciation of each other.

With the blessings and support from our gurus such as Smt. Arati Ankalikar Tikekar, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Pandit Suresh Talwalkar, Pandit M. Venkatesh Kumar, Pandit Vinayak Torvi, Pandit Kaivalya Kumar, Pandit Madhav Gudi, Pandit Parmeshwar Hegde and others, we hope to create a platform for youngsters who have dedicated their life to the pursuit of this tradition to come together for a healthy interaction which showcase their unique and budding talents.

Such an effort will be unique insofar as it brings together young musicians from across the country on one platform to move ahead together. Participation of gurus and other senior classical musicians will ensure that good talent is showcased and promoted. We envisage this as an annual event so that an entire line of young performers are presented. Thus, supporting an endeavour like this would actually mean supporting pallbearers of an important aspect of the cultural heritage of our country.

This Event is being planned in January 2009.
